Job Description SummaryReporting to the Driver Compliance Manager, the Driver Compliance Supervisor will; oversee Driver Compliance Specialists and Coordinators to ensure First Student's compliance under Federal/State/contractual rules and regulations. Responsible for coaching, development and performance management of Driver Compliance Specialists and Coordinators. This position supports over 200 operating locations, across multiple Regions.Major Responsibilities
  • Maintains high degree of confidentiality / encourage and promote safe environments / maintains positive collaboration when communicating with all contacts.
  • Supervises, trains, and coordinates activities of team members. Prepares and submits payroll.
  • Oversees team members to ensure location data and documents are being uploaded in the compliance system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Performs quality assurance audits
  • Lead team of direct reports; inspire, coach, develop, and motivate them to ensure they are providing high quality customer service, delivering on their commitments, and maximizing their potential.
  • Build and maintain strong relations with internal customers
  • Monitors and redistributes workload among team members as necessary to meet team goals
  • Serves as first contact for problem-solving on all issues between team and local users or region/area staff.
  • Provides compliance reports to Area/Region leaders
  • Mobilizes team to support onsite activities at locations as needed
  • Other responsibilities as required or requested


Minimum Education or Certifications Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Minimum Experience or Skills Required
  • 5 years' experience in operations, transportation preferred, 2 years management experience
  • Strong Knowledge of DOT federal and state rules and regulations
  • Ability to provide leadership, training and coaching for Driver Compliance Coordinators, and program users
  • Experience in project management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills
  • Strong communication and analytical skills both written and verbal ability to develop, manage and elevate a team.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office programs. Experience with other software such as timekeeping and payroll systems is preferred


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Employee must be able to work in an office environment to move about the office space.
  • Walk through bus yard when traveling to locations.
  • Travel required, up to 20%
