Now Hiring Part Time School Van Drivers for Glen Ellyn, IL

As a First Student Part Time School Van Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students\' day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home.

No experience as a bus driver is required! We\'re proud to train you with our industry-leading technology to help you succeed.

Your day will include:

A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in between
A guaranteed shift of 5 hours per school day, no working nights or weekends unless you want to

Oversees all routes and scheduling of buses
Counsels and coaches drivers and monitors
Handles heavy phone and radio traffic

3-5 years experience

Previous terminal operations, dispatch, or driver experience
Computer literate

Commercial Learner\'s Permit Bonus:
$750.00 Bonus - if the CLP is completed presented within 7 days of completing the Virtual CLP class.
250.00 Bonus - if the CLP is presented within 14 days of completing the Virtual CLP class.

Your day as a School Bus Driver will include:

Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.
Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
