As a First Student Part Time School Bus Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students\' day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home.

No experience as a bus driver is required! We\'re proud to train you with our industry-leading technology to help you succeed.

Your day will include:

A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in between
A guaranteed shift of (4) hours per school day, no working nights or weekends unless you want to
Additional hours gained through trips and charters when available

School Bus Driver benefits:

$19.00 an hour starting wage. $7.25 per hour during training
Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits plus 401k Retirement Savings Plans (Benefits offered may vary by location or CBA)
No experience necessary. We offer paid CDL training!
Child-Ride-Along Program - a perfect opportunity for working parents

About the Diesel Technician Position

As a Diesel Technician with First Student, you will help maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.

Diesel Technician key responsibilities include:

Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our passengers.
Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance including the repair of brakes and brake inspections, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.
Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
Complete work orders accurately.
Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.

Diesel Technician Qualifications

At least 3-5 years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience, or equivalent technical school education and experience.
Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver\'s license required.
CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment - Company paid training provided.
Possession of a mechanic\'s tool set to complete all assigned duties.
Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program (training, testing, and bonuses provided).
Strong computer skills.
