Location: Belmont, NH
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Pay Range: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

About the Diesel Technician Position
As a Diesel Technician with First Student, you will help maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
Diesel Technician Responsibilities
Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our passengers
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance
- Repair and inspect brake systems
- Perform engine tune-ups, suspension repairs, drivetrain repairs, transmission repairs, clutch repairs, and other maintenance activities
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
- Complete work orders accurately and maintain service documentation
- Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all company safety and maintenance procedures
Diesel Technician Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of diesel, fleet, bus, truck, heavy equipment, or automotive maintenance and repair experience, or equivalent technical school education and experience
- Strong vehicle diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver's license required
- CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment (company-paid training provided)
- Possession of a mechanic's tool set required
- Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program (training, testing, and pay increases provided)
- Strong computer and documentation skills
- School bus, fleet, transit, municipal, or heavy truck experience preferred
Additional Requirements
This position is considered safety-sensitive and is subject to DOT drug testing.
