The Paratransit Operations Manager will manage the day-to-day responsibilities and process of the Paratransit team. They will train, support, and provide guidance to team members. Job DescriptionMajor Responsibilities
- Manage the activities of Paratransit team.
- Build and maintain a strong functional team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building and succession planning.
- Prepare and participate in the preparation of staff development plans for each functional associate who is a member of the team.
- Assess the skills and skill levels necessary to achieve work objectives.
- Conduct midyear and year-end performance appraisals, providing regular feedback on their performance.
- Assess field and customer needs ongoing, ensuring we provide all tools needed for customer satisfaction, accurate payroll processing, and ad hoc analyses.
- Mentor team\'s procedure and conduct when auditing and interacting with the field to ensure delivery evokes compliance and success.
- Manage new hire onboarding, that it is rolled out efficiently and with proper understanding of the team and company goals.
- Assign standards and deadlines to team for projects or operational improvement efforts.
Minimum Education or Certifications Required
- 4-year degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum Experience or Skills Required
- Prior management experience preferred
- Project management skills preferred
- Previous customer support experience preferred
- Transportation logistics preferred
- Very strong analytical skills required with proven ability to break complex problems into simple components, demonstrated ability to effectively and enthusiastically lead change, demonstrated ability to manage conflict

Major Responsibilities

Open lot gates and inspect para-transit parking areas to ensure vehicles are ready for timely dispatch; reposition vehicles as needed to maintain yard flow.
Operate the fuel island, take accurate stick and meter readings, and submit daily inventory sheets.
Maintain accurate records, including Bulk Fuel Receiving, Fuel Variance, Month-End Closing, and Meter Calibration reports.
Monitor fuel levels, notify management when deliveries are needed, and ensure proper procedures and accurate readings before and after delivery.
Check and fill fluids (oil, antifreeze, power steering, transmission, brake fluid, washer fluid) and inspect belts during fueling; maintain adequate supplies and communicate inventory usage with the shop foreman.
Inspect tires twice weekly for proper pressure and damage; report issues immediately.

Your day as a Paratransit Driver will include:

Safely transport of community members and neighbors to and from appointments, errands and everything in between.

Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist citizens while entering the vehicle and with mobility aids.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).

Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.

Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.

Communicate with passengers, staff, and dispatch about behavior or delays.

Job DescriptionMajor Responsibilities

- Maintains accurate records and completes Bulk Fuel Receiving Report, Fuel Variance Report, Closing Month-end Report and Meter Calibration Report.
- Notifies the Manager or designee when a fuel delivery is required and ensures that accurate stick readings are taken before and after delivery. In addition, ensures that proper procedure is followed during delivery.
- Checks and fills the oil, antifreeze, power steering, transmission fluid, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid and belts on vehicles being fueled. Ensures that adequate supplies to perform checks are maintained at the fuel island. Communicates with the shop foreman regarding supplies and oil inventory dispensed into equipment.
- Twice a week, checks tires for damage and proper air pressure. Tire damage must be reported to the shop immediately.
- Inspects all vehicles during fueling or on a regularly scheduled basis for physical damage. Any damage will be reported immediately to the Manager or designee.
- Maintains the required inventory in the spill barrel and notifies the Manager any time supplies are used or replaced.
- In the event of a fuel spill, takes all necessary steps to contain the spill. The Manager or designee must be notified immediately.
- Maintains adequate inventories and supplies to make minor repairs and facilitate the washing of vehicles.
- Cleans interiors and exteriors of vehicles as required to maintain cleanliness of the fleet.
- Performs maintenance of buildings and grounds to include yard cleanliness, grass and weeds or any other yard projects that are assigned as necessary.
- Performs any other management requests or directives as requested.
Minimum Education or Certifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience or Skills Required
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels including drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, union officials, and public.
- Work extended hours regularly, including weekends and holidays to meet the business needs.
- Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- The position requires the employee to work outdoors in varying, seasonal weather conditions.
- Must be able to drive company or personal vehicle to review driver performance, meet clients, and for other company related purposes.
- Must be able to:

As a Full-Time Paratransit-Access-a-Ride GCV II Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of our passengers.

No experience is necessary to become a Paratransit Access-a-Ride GCV II Driver. We are here to help you succeed with expert training and guidance to help you become a safe and professional First Student Paratransit (Access-a-Ride) Driver.

Paratransit (Access-a-Ride) Driver benefits:

$26.00 per hour after training completion; $17.00 per hour training wage.
Commercial Learner\'s License (CLP) and Comprehensive professional driver training is provided, including instruction and qualification on 15-passenger buses, resulting in increased experience and proficiency.
Medical, Dental, Vision, & Life insurance or coverage options.
401(k) Retirement Plan .

Your day as a Paratransit Driver will include:

Safely transport of community members and neighbors to and from appointments, errands and everything in between.

Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist citizens while entering the vehicle and with mobility aids.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).

Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.

Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.

Communicate with passengers, staff, and dispatch about behavior or delays.

Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
