Assist Tech III with preventative maintenance (PM\'s), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usage
Remove and replace engine, transmission and differential assemblies with Maintenance Technician III supervision.
Diagnoses and performs accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under moderate supervision.
Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken
Evaluates completed work prior to release and seeks approval where required
Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary
Adhere to FirstGroup standards, policies and procedures
Moves vehicles safely between job and work area
Repair and maintain all shop equipment
Cleans vehicles as requested or required

Minimum Education or Certifications Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire)
State inspection license (if required)
ASE Certification preferred. Must participate in ASE testing program within 1 year (expected to have 3 ASE within 12 months of hire)

Minimum Experience or Skills Required

Intermediate mechanical aptitude and 3 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience
Adhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards
Valid driver\'s license
Intermediate problem-solving ability
Intermediate computer skills
Comfortable using hand tools
Strong customer service skills and communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Paratransit Quality Control Supervisor

About the Position

First Student is seeking a dependable, organized, and hands-on Paratransit Quality Control Supervisor to lead our Quality Control shift team. This role is responsible for supervising daily QC operations, supporting team performance, verifying fleet readiness, and helping ensure that paratransit vehicles are accounted for, inspected, positioned, and ready to support service.

The ideal candidate is a strong shift leader who can keep the team focused, resolve issues quickly, communicate clearly with operations and maintenance leadership, and make sure daily tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Pay Rate: $22.00/hr

What You\'ll Do

As a Paratransit Quality Control Supervisor, you will oversee the daily workflow of the QC team and help keep paratransit operations moving efficiently. Key responsibilities include:

What You\'ll Do

Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers by performing limited repairs with minimal supervision on both basic and complex maintenance such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, check fluid levels, change fluids and filters and lubricate components.
Perform mechanical repairs under minimal supervision including the repair of brakes and brake inspections, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.
Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used. Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain parts usage records and order repair parts from designated suppliers.
Diagnoses and performs accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal supervision. May perform diagnostic tests utilizing a computer and manufacturer\'s software to determine mechanical defects.
Lead preventative maintenance (PM\'s), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usage
Remove, overhaul and reinstallation of mechanical components with minimal Tech in Charge supervision
Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken
Evaluates completed work prior to release and seeks approval where required
Leads road calls and emergency services as necessary
Adhere to FirstGroup standards, policies and procedures
Moves vehicles safely between job and work area
Repair and maintain all shop equipment
Other responsibilities as requested or required

Minimum Education or Certifications Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire)
State inspection license (if required)
ASE Certification preferred. Must participate in ASE testing program (expected to have 6 ASE within 6 months of hire)

Minimum Experience or Skills Required

Advanced mechanical aptitude and 5 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience
Adhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards
Valid driver\'s license
Advanced problem-solving ability
Advanced computer skills
Comfortable using hand tools
Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers

First Student is looking for a hands-on Service Employee / Auxiliary Equipment Specialist to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment across our fleet. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems, and keeping vehicles operating safely and efficiently.

In this position, you will work closely with the Maintenance team to service equipment such as two-way radios, GPS systems, AM/FM systems, Child Check systems, video equipment, and other vehicle-based electronic devices used in First Student and customer-owned vehicles.

What You\'ll Do

As an Auxiliary Equipment Specialist, you will:

Install, inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle electrical and auxiliary equipment
Maintain two-way radios, GPS units, video systems, Child Check equipment, and related devices
Complete work in a clean, professional, and timely manner
Accurately document maintenance work, labor, parts, and supplies used
Maintain inventory and supplies in a mobile service unit
Perform light interior and exterior maintenance on buses and trucks as needed
Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors when required to help maintain fleet standards
Identify and report potentially unsafe equipment conditions
Drive buses or service vehicles for non-revenue needs, including testing, shuttling, and parts pickup/delivery
Follow all First Student safety standards, policies, and PPE requirements
Support additional maintenance needs as directed by management

What We\'re Looking For

The right candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced fleet environment. You should be able to troubleshoot problems, use electrical tools confidently, and communicate well with supervisors, technicians, and operations teams.

Minimum Requirements

Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
Participation in ASE testing program for electrical systems
