As a Paratransit Quality Control team member, you\'ll play a critical part in keeping our para-transit fleet safe, fueled, and ready for service-while gaining direct exposure to vehicle systems, shop operations, and preventative maintenance practices. Starting at $19.00/hr with opportunities for advancement.

Major Responsibilities

Open lot gates and inspect para-transit parking areas to ensure vehicles are ready for timely dispatch; reposition vehicles as needed to maintain yard flow.
Operate the fuel island, take accurate stick and meter readings, and submit daily inventory sheets.
Maintain accurate records, including Bulk Fuel Receiving, Fuel Variance, Month-End Closing, and Meter Calibration reports.
Monitor fuel levels, notify management when deliveries are needed, and ensure proper procedures and accurate readings before and after delivery.
Check and fill fluids (oil, antifreeze, power steering, transmission, brake fluid, washer fluid) and inspect belts during fueling; maintain adequate supplies and communicate inventory usage with the shop foreman.
Inspect tires twice weekly for proper pressure and damage; report issues immediately.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections during fueling or as scheduled; report any damage immediately.
Maintain spill barrel inventory and respond to fuel spills by containing them and notifying management immediately.
Maintain supplies for minor repairs and vehicle washing.
Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors to maintain fleet standards.
Perform basic maintenance of buildings and grounds, including yard cleanliness, grass, weeds, and other assigned projects.
Complete additional duties and assignments as directed by management.

Minimum Education or Certifications Required

Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

Service Employee
The Service Employer maintains and fuels all school buses, activity, and commercial buses in conjunction with First Student\'s Maintenance Department: dispenses fuel, checks oil, maintains accurate stick and meter readings, stocks required supplies and equipment, and coordinates the flow of buses to ensure safe operation. Performs light maintenance as necessary to buildings and grounds.

As a Service Employee, your major responsibilities will be to:

• Opens the gates to the lot and checks bus parking areas to ensure all can be dispatched in a timely manner. Re-positions any buses that may impede the traffic in the yard
• Maintains accurate records and completes Bulk Fuel Receiving Report, Fuel Variance Report, Closing Month-end Report and Meter Calibration Report
• Notifies the Location Manager or designee when a fuel delivery is required and ensures that accurate stick readings are taken before and after delivery
• Checks and fills the oil, antifreeze, power steering, transmission fluid, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid and belts on buses being fueled
• Performs light interior and exterior maintenance on buses as required
• Performs any other management requests or directives as requested

Job DescriptionMajor Responsibilities
- Monitors driver pre and post trip inspections and equipment issues (e.g., lights, clips, strobe, brakes) and takes corrective action.

Job DescriptionMajor Responsibilities
- Monitors driver pre and post trip inspections and equipment issues (e.g., lights, clips, strobe, brakes) and takes corrective action.
- Performs driver road checks (e.g., bus stops-early/late arrivals; safety, speeding, railroad crossings); also observes drivers for work readiness (e.g., uniform, safety vest, appearance).
- Performs IPP Safety contacts with drivers; corrects safety violations on the scene.
- Investigates incidents/accidents, for example, identifies facts on-the-scene, and takes photos.
- Attends client conferences (e.g., parent meetings related to driver performance; periodic bus coordinator meetings on issues). Identifies facts, ensures calm discussions, and recommends corrective actions to Contract Manager.
- Completes various compliance activities, for example, motor vehicle records, background checks, non-compliance list, route signs on buses, GAP applications, accident reports, distributes driver paychecks; enters safety compliance data into DMO or other systems.
- Supervises daily loading/unloading at schools. Coordinates special events at the event location (e.g., driver parking, parent parking, loading/unloading).
- Dispatches as needed.
- Monitors on time performance.
- Assists management with driver interviews.

Works closely with location manager providing status of maintenance and budget requirements. Reviews repair orders.
May order fuel for all vehicles, order parts, and subcontract repair work.
Supervises bus fueling. May arrange services for building and ground keeping.
Identifies and recommends actions to improve operating efficiency.
Completes special projects as assigned. Required to perform hands-on work activities.

Minimum Education or Certifications Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Technical training preferred
Possess CDL Operator\'s license with required endorsements

Minimum Experience or Skills Required

3+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience
May require lifting of 20 to 50 lbs
Good written and oral communication skills
Computer skills
Industry experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines and school bus equipment is preferred

As a Service Employee, your major responsibilities will be to:

Opens the gates to the lot and checks bus parking areas to ensure all can be dispatched in a timely manner. Re-positions any buses that may impede the traffic in the yard
Maintains accurate records and completes Bulk Fuel Receiving Report, Fuel Variance Report, Closing Month-end Report and Meter Calibration Report
Notifies the Location Manager or designee when a fuel delivery is required and ensures that accurate stick readings are taken before and after delivery
Checks and fills the oil, antifreeze, power steering, transmission fluid, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid and belts on buses being fueled
Performs light interior and exterior maintenance on buses as required
Performs any other management requests or directives as requested

Requirements

Ability to learn maintenance skills.
