Operations Supervisor
Location: Plaistow, NH
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 annually
Role Overview
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day execution of transportation operations, with direct accountability for driver performance, dispatch coordination, service reliability, and safety compliance. This is a hands-on operational leadership role, requiring frequent presence in the yard and active decision-making in real time.
This role is ideal for a leader who understands frontline transportation operations and can maintain control, structure, and accountability under pressure.
Core Responsibilities
Supervise daily driver and dispatcher performance to ensure on-time route execution and safe operations
Monitor trip performance, attendance, service disruptions, and incidents
Coach, counsel, retrain, and discipline drivers and dispatchers as required
Enforce DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies
Provide dispatch coverage and operational support as needed
Conduct road checks, yard inspections, and operational audits
Support accident response, investigations, and corrective action
Prepare daily operational reports and maintain accurate records
Assist with payroll verification, scheduling, and workforce coverage
Address customer and district concerns promptly and professionally
Support driver hiring, onboarding, and training as needed
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Class B CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain)
1-3 years of transportation, transit, or logistics experience
Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of dispatch, routing, and service execution
Effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with regular time spent in the yard and on the road
Requires standing, walking, and hands-on operational engagement
Schedule flexibility required, including early mornings and variable shifts
