Now Hiring Substitute Licensed School Bus DriversFirst Student is seeking experienced, fully licensed School Bus Drivers for substitute driving opportunities supporting HTS, field, athletic, and charter work.This position is designed for experienced drivers who already possess the required CDL and school bus qualifications and are looking for flexible driving opportunities.School Bus Driver Benefits- HTS, Field & Athletic Work: $36.18 per hour
- Charter Work: $25.26 per hour
- Charter Hours Available: Opportunities may include extended charter assignments, including a current assignment of approximately 13.5 hours per day, 5 days per week

- Safely transporting students for HTS, field, athletic, and charter assignments
- Supervising boarding and unloading and assisting students as needed
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintaining a safe and orderly environment on the bus
- Reporting mechanical or safety concerns promptly
- Following all traffic laws, DOT requirements, and company safety standards
- Communicating professionally with students, families, school staff, dispatch, and other First Student team members
- Providing dependable coverage based on operational needs and available assignments
- Experienced school bus drivers looking for additional driving opportunities
- Retired or semi-retired CDL drivers
- Drivers interested in substitute, HTS, field, athletic, or charter work
- Experienced drivers looking for flexible scheduling and additional hours
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must possess a valid CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Must be qualified to operate a school bus without an air brake restriction, when applicable
- Previous school bus driving experience preferred
- Must meet all applicable DOT and First Student safety requirements
Language Requirement
This role requires English proficiency. Federal, state, and local requirements, including U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, require training, safety communications, company policies, employment documents, and other job-related communications be conducted in English.
