Dispatcher - Yonkers, NY
Location: Yonkers, NY
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week. The operation runs between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and the selected candidate's shift will fall within those hours.

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily bus operations, supporting on-time route performance, and providing frontline guidance to drivers and monitors serving the Yonkers School District.

Dispatcher Responsibilities
- Oversee daily routes and bus scheduling
- Dispatch buses and help ensure on-time route performance
- Counsel and coach drivers and monitors
- Manage heavy phone and radio traffic
- Receive scheduling concerns and driver complaints and report them to the Operations Supervisor or Contract Manager
- Serve as a primary communication liaison with the contracted customer
- Help resolve student drop-off and pick-up concerns
- Assist with charter reservations, billing, or driver payroll as needed
- Perform backup driving or miscellaneous clerical duties when required
- Complete special projects and additional assignments
- Assist with the supervision of day-to-day transportation operations
Dispatcher Experience and Skills
- Three to five years of relevant experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous terminal operations, dispatch, or professional driving experience
- Basic knowledge of radio-dispatch equipment
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to perform effectively under deadlines and time constraints
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
