Now Hiring an Operations Clerk in Hanson, MA

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
Work Location: In person at our Hanson, Massachusetts location
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., with extended hours as needed
Coverage Area: Supports First Student locations throughout Massachusetts
Travel: Frequent travel to Registry of Motor Vehicles locations is required

At First Student, our Operations Clerks support the Location Manager and local teams with the administrative, payroll, accounting, and hiring functions that keep our operations running smoothly.

This in-person position is based in Hanson and provides support to First Student locations across Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to travel frequently to Registry locations.

Major Responsibilities

  • Process new-employee files and submit them for approval
  • Maintain employee files in accordance with company policies
  • Process vendor invoices for payment
  • Complete final billing for charter and rental invoices
  • Calculate driver and staff payroll and enter payroll information into the appropriate system
  • Receive and process employment applications
  • Schedule candidate interviews
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to customer inquiries
  • Provide administrative and operational support to First Student locations throughout Massachusetts
  • Travel to Registry of Motor Vehicles locations as required
  • Complete other duties and provide extended coverage as operational needs arise

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout Massachusetts
  • Computer proficiency, including 10-key data entry and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in person at the Hanson location
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday beginning at 6:00 a.m. and remain beyond the scheduled shift when operationally necessary
