Now Hiring: Operations Supervisor
Pay Rate: 40,000.00-42,000.00 USD per year
At First Student, the Operations Supervisors are an essential part of our team. They create a smooth-running environment to assist the location employees, location managers, and drivers. They also help monitor Driver and Dispatcher performance, as well as assist employees when opportunity arises.

Key Responsibilities
- Counsels, coaches, and trains drivers and dispatchers. Tracks trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc.
- Ensures that drivers are performing assigned duties correctly and safely and that they meet all job related specifications.
- Prepares operational reports/schedules. Maintains accurate daily records of operations.
- Dispatches as needed. Reconciles previous day deposits.
- Responds to customer comments.
- Other responsibilities may include: road checks, routing, training, payroll, and other administrative tasks as required.
- May assist in driver hiring in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required, further education preferred but not required.
- CDL Class B or above required, or the ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months of employment
- 2-4 years of transit or related experience preferred
- 2-3 years driving experience required
- Supervisory experience strongly desired
- Problem solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to verbally communicate with passengers, Drivers, Dispatchers and Road Supervisors including use of a 2-way radio and PA system effectively.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Mostly office environment but requires periods of standing walking when in the service area away from the office.
- Incumbent must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone.
- Little or no travel required, but meeting with local customers may be necessary.
